Why the Kavouri room matters more than the list suggests
Almost every recommendation a new arrival gets for serious seafood points into Piraeus or out to an island. This one is on the headland, which for a household in Vouliagmeni or Kavouri is a walk rather than a drive.
The Kavouri file lists what is on that headland and it is a short list — the beach, the club, the Divani, and very little else. A fish house with an Athens reputation is a material addition to it.
How to read a Greek fish restaurant
By the display, not the menu. A well-run one tells you what came in this morning and what did not, and will steer you off something if it is not good today. A poorly run one sells you anything on the list.
That is the same test as everywhere else on this coast, applied to the one category where it is easiest to check and hardest to fake.
