DAM Notiou Tomea, Peiraios & Nison

Residence permit directorate · Αγίου Διονυσίου 5, 185 45 Πειραιάς

The residence permit authority for Glyfada, Alimos and Elliniko-Argyroupoli. Not for Voula or Vouliagmeni, which are administered from Pallini.

An Athens building flying the Greek and European flags, palm and shuttered balconies against a hard blue sky.

A local closure most calendars miss
12 December Saint Spyridon, patron of Piraeus. This office only. There is also a 13:00 close on 24 and 31 December across the network.
Biometrics
You cannot book them The service summons you. Bring the original passport, four 4×6 cm photographs plus the image on a CD, and a €16 e-paravolo under code 2119.

The Decentralised Administration of Attica still issues residence permits — the responsibility did not transfer wholesale to the Ministry of Migration and Asylum, contrary to a common assumption. It runs four directorates and issued 22,134 initial permits and 60,527 renewals in 2025. Investor permits are the exception and sit with the Ministry.

How filing actually works in 2026

Initial grant, renewal and re-issue are electronic only, through the Ministry’s applications portal. The applicant can file personally, or an authorised lawyer or a first-degree relative can file for them. Case tracking is on a separate government system, and the directorates are explicitly not competent for platform problems — those go to the Ministry’s technical support address.

Delivery appointments are booked by citizens through the immigration portal and by lawyers through the bar associations’ own portal. Biometrics cannot be booked at all: you are summoned.

Two traps worth knowing

There are two live URLs for the same electronic service, and the older one is still linked from several government pages. And "DAM Athinon B΄" no longer exists — it is now the Central Sector and West Attica directorate, although its email address still carries the old name.

If your address is in Vari, Voula or Vouliagmeni, this is not your office. If you are applying on an investment, it is not your office either.

The Desk · The Move

Three firms, not thirty

We keep a short list of tax advisers and immigration lawyers who have actually run 5A applications to completion, and who answer email. Tell us your situation and we will make an introduction to the two or three that fit it, and tell you plainly where we have a commercial relationship and where we do not.

  • 01 A human reads it. Always.
  • 02 We name names, and we say why.
  • 03 Any commercial relationship is disclosed up front.
  • 04 Nothing you send us is sold to anyone.

Where we earn a referral fee we say so on the page it appears. Nothing in the editorial rankings is for sale. Read the charter.

What is this about?

We reply within one working day. Your details are never sold or passed on without your say-so.
