The DESTE Foundation occupies a building at Neo Ionia and shows work from Dakis Joannou’s collection. Admission is free and the opening hours belong to whatever exhibition is running.
Where it sits among the four
Athens has four collections a household of this kind would use, and they belong to four different families: Niarchos at the SNFCC, Basil and Elise Goulandris in Pangrati, Nicholas and Dolly Goulandris at the Cycladic, and Joannou here.

One practical note on buying
There is no Sotheby’s or Bonhams saleroom in Athens that works the way London does. Greek modernism is previewed here and sold in Paris — Bonhams Cornette de Saint Cyr runs "The Greek Sale" with an Athens associate, and the viewing happens in the city while the hammer falls elsewhere.
