High Hope Specialty Coffee

Specialty coffee bar · Georgiou Gennimata 29, Ano Glyfada

The specialty bar of the southern suburbs, open since 2019: Brazil as the house origin, rotating single origins, and beans to take home.

A specialty espresso bar: a timber counter, stools, a barista working behind the machine.

Commercial relationship

None. LivingTheta has no commercial relationship with High Hope, receives nothing from it, and pays for what it orders.

Who roasts for them One secondary source names a roaster; the business’s own site does not, so we do not print the name.

High Hope has been on Georgiou Gennimata in Ano Glyfada since March 2019, founded by the head barista Vangelis Kirmpasis. Brazil is the permanent house origin, with Colombia, Guatemala, Ethiopia and Costa Rica alongside and guest coffees rotating through, a La Marzocco on the bar and bags to take away.

The one that sells you beans

This is the practical distinction. Every café on this coast will make you a coffee; almost none will sell you the beans to make it yourself. For a household setting up a kitchen here that is the difference between a place you visit and a place you use.

The other rooms on this list are brunch-led. Oven roasts its own and is the closest comparison, but it is a bakery first.

The Desk · The Table

A table, and the right one

We do not run a booking service. We do know which rooms are worth a Tuesday, who is cooking rather than plating, and which kitchens will send someone to your house. Ask and we will tell you what we would do.

  • 01 A human reads it. Always.
  • 02 We name names, and we say why.
  • 03 Any commercial relationship is disclosed up front.
  • 04 Nothing you send us is sold to anyone.

Where we earn a referral fee we say so on the page it appears. Nothing in the editorial rankings is for sale. Read the charter.

What is this about?

We reply within one working day. Your details are never sold or passed on without your say-so.
