KEP on the Athens Riviera

Citizen service centres · Glyfada, Voula, Vouliagmeni, Vari, Alimos and Elliniko

The counter that does more than most foreigners expect and less than most guides claim — and where the official register and the municipalities disagree with each other about basic facts.

Athens rooftops from above, pine and the mountains behind.
Glyfada A΄
Πλαπούτα 86 & Γεννηματά, Γλυφάδα — 210 9652152 Postcode disputed: the municipality says 16562, the national KEP register says 16561. Both are official. The street address is not in doubt.
Glyfada B΄ (Παραλία)
Διαδόχου Παύλου 42, 166 75 Γλυφάδα — 213 2149201 to 206
Glyfada Γ΄ (Άνω Γλυφάδα)
Γούναρη 199, 166 74 Γλυφάδα — 213 1358800 to 805 Hours disputed. The municipality published Monday to Friday 08:00 to 19:30 and Saturday 08:00 to 13:30 in July 2025; the national register says 07:45 to 15:00 on a 2021 record. We are not choosing between them.
Βούλα
Λεωφ. Βασιλέως Παύλου 107-109, 166 73 Βούλα — switchboard 213 2019800, citizen service 213 2019816
Βουλιαγμένη
Αφροδίτης 2, 166 71 Βουλιαγμένη — 213 2020719, 720, 721 The former Vouliagmeni town hall. Local closure at Ascension.
Βάρη
Βάκχου & Δήμητρας, 166 72 Βάρη — 210 8979140
Άλιμος, central
Θουκυδίδου 43, Καλαμάκι, 174 55 Άλιμος — 213 2024900
Άλιμος, branch
Address withheld — two official sources conflict The municipality gives Δωδεκανήσου 63 in Ano Kalamaki; the national register gives Λ. Ιωνίας 35 & Χαριλάου Τρικούπη 8. The telephone (213 2149100) and email are identical in both, so it is one office and one of the addresses is stale. Ring before you go.
Ελληνικό and Αργυρούπολη
Both temporarily at Λεωφ. Ιασωνίδου 35, 167 77 Ελληνικό KEP Argyroupolis has moved out of its registered address on Λ. Βουλιαγμένης and is housed with the Elliniko office. The municipality gave a temporary arrangement ending 31 May 2026; that date has passed with no further notice. Elliniko 213 2025000, Argyroupoli 213 2019200. We are not printing a street address for Argyroupoli.
AFM — the change most guides have missed
No longer available at a KEP The national register of administrative procedures, updated 3 August 2026, records AFM and kleidarithmos as "provided digitally only" — through myAADE and gov.gr, with remote human support by video through myAADElive. Not at the KEP, and no longer over a tax office counter.
Language
Greek only Every procedure page checked states Greek as the language of provision. There is no published entitlement to service in English at any KEP, and foreign-language documents need an official Greek translation — except EU public documents on the multilingual standard forms.

The KEP is the general-purpose government counter and there are six of them across the Riviera municipalities. For a new arrival it is the most useful building in this whole set, and also the one with the least reliable published information.

What it can do

  • AMKA issue, activation and reactivation — a KEP is a competent authority alongside e-EFKA.
  • Certification of a signature, and certified copies of administrative documents.
  • Birth, family status, criminal record, permanent residence and municipal transfer certificates.
  • e-paravolo, and tax and insurance clearance through the tax interface.
  • Apostille — as an intake point that forwards to the competent authority, not as an issuing authority itself. Most guides say a KEP cannot do this at all.

What it cannot

An AFM or a kleidarithmos, since August 2026 at the latest. Residence permits, at any stage. And anything that is not a formally certified procedure — for those, as one municipality puts it plainly, the KEP does not accept an application and provides administrative information only.

Appointments are booked through the national KEP system, which needs TAXISnet credentials, and there is a video service as well. Whether walk-in is still permitted we could not confirm: the decision making appointments compulsory covers e-EFKA and two other bodies, not the KEP. Book anyway.

For an AMKA specifically, the e-EFKA office in Glyfada is the alternative, and it carries the appointment trap worth knowing before you try to book anything.

The Desk · The Move

Three firms, not thirty

We keep a short list of tax advisers and immigration lawyers who have actually run 5A applications to completion, and who answer email. Tell us your situation and we will make an introduction to the two or three that fit it, and tell you plainly where we have a commercial relationship and where we do not.

  • 01 A human reads it. Always.
  • 02 We name names, and we say why.
  • 03 Any commercial relationship is disclosed up front.
  • 04 Nothing you send us is sold to anyone.

Where we earn a referral fee we say so on the page it appears. Nothing in the editorial rankings is for sale. Read the charter.

What is this about?

We reply within one working day. Your details are never sold or passed on without your say-so.
