St Lawrence College was founded in 1980 and sits on more than twenty acres at Koropi: around a thousand pupils from two to eighteen, on the English National Curriculum through Cambridge Primary, IGCSE and A Levels.
Why almost every English-speaking family here looks at it first
Because of where it is. At around nine kilometres from Vouliagmeni it is the only British school within a sensible run of this coast. ACS is 22.5 km away, Campion 23.3, Byron 25.2 — all of them north-east, across the city.
That does not make it the best school for every child. It makes it the one whose distance does not make the decision for you.
Cambridge, not the IB
A Levels narrow to three or four subjects at sixteen; the IB keeps six. Neither is better in the abstract and both are read fluently by universities in the UK, the US and Europe. What differs is the child it suits.
If the IB matters to you, the schools that run it are further away: ACS Athens, Campion, St Catherine's and the International School of Athens, which runs all three IB programmes.
The thing to do before deciding
