The Zillers Rooftop Gastronomy

Rooftop restaurant, one Michelin star · Mitropoleos 54, beside the Metropolitan Cathedral

A starred rooftop in Ernst Ziller’s former house, looking at the Acropolis and the cathedral, at the cheapest Michelin price band of any starred room on our list.

A quiet street below the Acropolis, a flag over the balconies.

The Zillers Rooftop sits on top of the boutique hotel in Ernst Ziller’s old house on Mitropoleos, with the Acropolis on one side and the Metropolitan Cathedral below. Dinner only, two tasting menus, one star since 2022.

Where it fits

It is the accessible one. Hervé is a keypad and a fourteen-course commitment; this is a rooftop with a view and a price band that does not require an occasion.

That also means it is the one most likely to feel like somewhere visitors go. If the point of the evening is that nobody at the next table is on holiday, this is the wrong room and Petralona is the right one.

A table, and the right one

We do not run a booking service. We do know which rooms are worth a Tuesday, who is cooking rather than plating, and which kitchens will send someone to your house. Ask and we will tell you what we would do.

  • 01 A human reads it. Always.
  • 02 We name names, and we say why.
  • 03 Any commercial relationship is disclosed up front.
  • 04 Nothing you send us is sold to anyone.

Where we earn a referral fee we say so on the page it appears. Nothing in the editorial rankings is for sale. Read the charter.
